Father Brian Sistare: A Bully In The Pulpit
Posted on 7:00 AM by Unknown
Father Brian Sistare, a Catholic priest at Sacred Heart in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, is apparently emailing his state legislator’s — just the ones who voted for marriage equality —threatening to use his pulpit as a church leader to get them unelected.
Apparently the not-so-good father is unaware that, as a non-profit entity, his church, and others, are legally, legally, forbidden from engaging in political activity.
But, he says, in his email: “I’m praying for each of you, that you turn back to God. I’m also going to let my Parish know exactly how you voted, so come re-election time, you will not be re-elected.”
Using God as a weapon; how so very Catholic of Sistare.
His email was sent to the 26 state senators who voted for marriage equality and was signed by Sistare, though he has not commented further.
Sistare is also said to have told married, legally married, I remind you, gay parishioners that he would not serve them communion unless they ended their marriages.
Here is the full email sent to Rhode Island senators:
Dear RI Senators who voted for “marriage” between members of the same sex,
Yesterday was a very sad day for our little state of Rhode Island. I’m still shocked that each of you took it upon yourself to take the place of God and redefine what He has established. Marriage has always been understood as the union between one man and one woman. This is a 5,000 year old fact! I’m wondering what you will do when a mother comes to you and asks to be married to her son, or a cousin wants to marry her first cousin, or when a man wants to marry 2 or 3 women, or a human being wants to marry his animal? What will you do, now that you have decided that Marriage is no longer a sacred union between one man and one woman?
For those of you Senators who are baptized Catholics, I invite you to go to the Sacrament of Confession to receive God’s Mercy and Forgiveness for your grave sin of voting against God yesterday, so you’ll be able to receive Holy Communion again in the Catholic Church.
For those of you who claim to be a disciple of Jesus Christ, I also invite you to repentance in your own faith tradition; and to those who claim no religious affiliation, I pray that you also see the error of your ways.
Your decision yesterday will have a lot of consequences on those of us who hold God’s definition of Marriage between one man and one woman. Already my Pastor from my hometown of Westerly is being accused by a confirmed lesbian, of violating the tax exempt status of the Catholic Church for telling his parishioners to contact Senator Algiere about his upcoming vote – unfortunately, Senator Algiere, you betrayed your own Catholic Faith and your constituents in voting for sodomy yesterday. Also, my little niece Giana was coming out of school the other day when her fellow 4 year old classmate remarked to her that 2 women could marry. Thankfully, my niece told the little boy the TRUTH that this isn’t the case, that Marriage is only between one man and one woman.
I’m praying for each of you, that you turn back to God. I’m also going to let my Parish know exactly how you voted, so come re-election time, you will not be re-elected.
Fr. Sistare
St. Rocco Church
Johnston, RI
I pray that God gets a copy of the email and forwards her answer to Sistare that she is all about love, and she is not too keen on this bully using his pulpit to threaten either a state senator who voted for equality, or a gay couple in his congregation.
I don’t think God would look favorably on Sistare.
I would also like to see those Rhode Island senators enact legislation to begin taxing the Catholic Church since they are obviously now a full-fledged political organization.
And God isn’t happy about that either.

The RNC Foot-Stomps Over Planned NBC/CNN Hillary Films
Posted on 1:00 PM by Unknown
You know what’s funny? The mere mention of the words “Hillary Clinton” and “White House” sends the GOP into a tailspin, chasing their collective tails and barking at imaginary doorbells.
Yesterday, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus sent pissy, put-on-your-big-boy-pants letters to both NBC and CNN because both networks have recently announced plans to produce, respectively, a film and a documentary on the life of former Secretary of State Clinton.
And Priebus and the RNC see these programs—both of which will air before the presidential campaign begins—as a kind of campaign contribution to the Hillary Clinton campaign that has yet to even be verified or announced.
The mere mention of Hillary sends the GOP running and pissing like a mad dog.
So, Priebus has decided that if either network airs their Clinton programs than the GOP will formally bar Republicans from partnering with the networks on any primary or Presidential debates in 2016.
To CNN, Priebus wrote:
I find CNN’s actions disturbing and disappointing. Your credibility as a supposedly unbiased news network will most certainly be jeopardized by the decision to show political favoritism and produce an extended commercial for Secretary Clinton’s nascent campaign.
And to NBC, he said:
I find this disturbing and disappointing. NBC cannot purport to be a neutral party in American politics, and the credibility of NBC News, already damaged by the partisanship of MSNBC, will be further undermined by the actions of NBC Universal executives who have taken it upon themselves to produce an extended commercial for Secretary Clinton’s nascent campaign.
To be fair, most major entertainment networks—like NBC—and most news networks—like CNN—rarely produce mini-series or documentaries about major figures in politics yet, the idea of a Clinton story is an interesting one. It's a good one, too, as she has been on the forefront of American politics since her husband became president in 1992.
Still, and I keep going back to this, just how scared of Hillary is the GOP? I mean, they’re acting like Clinton, who has never said she was running for president, has already won the office before the race had even begun.
Hmmm, maybe they’re onto something …..

This Is A Republican Democrat, Part 1: Bob Filner
Posted on 6:00 AM by Unknown
Bob Filner, the Mayor of San Diego, has been accused by several women of sexual harassment and his lawyer, Harvey Berger — quite possibly one of the most inane attorneys ever — says he knows who is to blame: The City of San Diego.
Yes, it’s the city’s fault that Filner sexually harasses women because the city didn't provide training:
"The city has a legal obligation to provide sexual harassment training to all management level employees, and to provide such training to new managers within six (6) months of hire ... The city failed to provide such training to Mayor Filner. … Therefore, if there is any liability at all, the city will almost certainly be liable.”The letter said the mayor's training was canceled and never rescheduled, so, it’s not his fault he grabs women's asses because no one told him it was wrong. Then Berger quotes Bob Dylan:
"Many might argue that 'you don't need a weatherperson [sic] to tell you which way the wind blows,' and an adult male should not need sexual harassment training. I would point out that in his decades of public service for the people of San Diego as a U.S. Representative, Mayor Filner never received sexual harassment training."Filner's penchant for treating women like his personal sexual playthings was never addressed; he was never slapped on the snout with a rolled up newspaper so he gets a free pass.
That’s a Republican Democrat, y’all, taking zero responsibility for their behavior because no one told him it was wrong; he's acting like a member of the GOP!

This Is A Republican, Part 5: Pat McCrory
Posted on 6:00 PM by Unknown
Pat McCrory, Governor of North Carolina, has announced that he will sign into law a Republican-backed bill making sweeping changes to how and when North Carolinians can vote. McCrory praised the bill at a press conference, saying it will restore faith in elections by requiring voters to present government-issued identification at the polls.
But he hasn’t seen one of the bill’s key provisions.
An Associated Press reporter asked the Republican governor how three particular provisions of the bill — ending same-day voter registration, trimming the period for early voting by a week and eliminating a program that encourages high school students to register to vote in advance of their 18th birthdays — would help prevent voter fraud.
And McCrory answered by talking about two other sections of the legislation: a measure that directs counties to make early voting available for more hours during the abbreviated early voting period and a provision forbidding lobbyists from passing campaign donations from their clients directly on to lawmakers.
McCrory was then asked again about the three provisions and how they would prevent voter fraud, and he responded by saying he had long been concerned about same-day registration, which allows voters to cast a ballot immediately after presenting elections officials with proof of their name and home address.
McCrory was then asked specifically about the provision ending pre-registration by those under 18 and said, "I don't know enough, I'm sorry, I haven't seen that part of the bill."
The bill he’d just said he would sign; hasn’t read it, doesn’t know some key provisions, but, hey, it’s gonna get some ink from him.
Pat McCrory. Seriously, North Carolina? Seriously? You’ve got a governor passing bills he hasn’t even read.
This Is A Republican, Part 4: Steve King
Posted on 3:00 PM by Unknown
Steve King, the Congressman from Iowa, and one of the most prolific moronic douchebags in Washington, who will say anything, even when he knows it’s all made up in his tiny little head.
He was the one, you may remember, who Tweeted out that his offices in Washington were being overrun by illegal aliens and demanded help from anyone. Turns out the “aliens” were actual legal Americans, the sons and daughters of undocumented immigrants, who came to his office to ask why he wanted to deny them a future in this country.
And now, because King never met an undocumented immigrant who wasn’t a drug dealer or criminal, is stepping into it again. This time he said:
They [the children of undocumented immigrants] “aren’t all valedictorians; they weren’t all brought in by their parents; for every one who’s a valedictorian, there’s another 100 out there that they weigh 130 pounds, and they’ve got calves the size of cantaloupes because they’re hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert.”
Yes, for every immigrant here doing the right thing, there are, according to King’s statistics, 100 more crossing the deserts with bags after bag of pot.
So, well, this was bound to happen. His offices are now being inundated with cantaloupes.
Last week, three young students dropped off the fruit while asking to speak with king about his vicious, and incorrect, statements. And who can blame them after King said that many of those so-called Dreamers are involved in the drug trade.
But that isn’t all he’s said. Last year he compared immigrants to dogs, stating that the United States has the pick of the litter; in 2006 he showed up on the House floor with a model of an electrified fence that he proposed should be built along the U.S.-Mexico border to deter illegal immigration, noting that we already do something similar with livestock.
Dogs. Livestock. Drug mules. That’s how King views every single undocumented immigrant in the country. Every.Single.One.
Now, I'm sure some undocumented immigrants are racing across the deserts carrying drugs, but, I think, for every one of them, they are probably hundreds of Americans and others doing the exact same thing, but Steve King has no problem with those folks.
It's just the brown-skinned ones with the accents.
And while some in the GOP—notably Cryin’ John Boehner and Demonic Eric Cantor—have called King’s cantaloupe rant “wrong” and “inexcusable” just last month the House passed a King amendment to the Homeland Security spending bill that calls for defunding a temporary deferred action program created last year that offered Dreamers a temporary reprieve from deportation.
Yes. Because they’re drug mules, they’re animals, they don’t count. At least not in the eyes of a Steve King.

This Is A Republican, Part 3: Paul Ryan ... With a Hint of Mittsy
Posted on 12:00 PM by Unknown
I’ve often said we dodged a bullet in 2008 when Obama bested Grampa McCain at winning the White House; and not just because the Mama Grizzly Bore™ would have been a heartbeat away from the presidency but because McCain is crazy.
But we dodged an even bigger bullet in 2012, when Obama took on Mister One-Percent, Mittsy Romney, and his lapdog Paulie Ryan, and sent both of them to the loser’s corner.
Mittsy would have been awful because he never met an issue onto which he couldn’t come down on both sides, and Paul Ryan is no better.
Paul Ryan is a hypocrite.
Let’s start at young, not-yet-in-office, Paul Ryan: the Paul Ryan whose father died when he was a boy. The Paul Ryan who received Social Security benefits until his 18th birthday because of his father’s death. The Paul Ryan who, wisely enough, saved those benefits to help pay for his education at Miami University—a publicly funded school. The same Paul Ryan who saved and used those benefits and now calls Social Security a Ponzi scheme.
Unless it benefited him. Hypocrite.
- The man who prides himself on small government, less government, used government aid—for which he was entitled—to pay for public school education.
- The man who seems to champion the ‘private sector’ over government but has never had a job in the private sector; he has only worked for the government.
- The man who prides himself on being a fiscal conservative and yet voted to fund both the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan while voting for the Bush Tax Cuts.
- The man who voted for, and lobbied for, stimulus bills under the W Regime; he also voted for the $152 million stimulus package passed under W in late 2008.
- The man who then publicly condemned the Obama stimulus package less than a year later, and then sought to receive some of those stimulus funds for his home district.
- The man who voted for Medicare Part D—passed in a W Regime—which has cost the American people trillions of dollars.
- The man, the fiscal conservative, small government Republican, who voted for the seven-hundred-billion TARP — Wall Street — bailout; and voted to bail out the auto industry, too.
- The man who has voted for some $1.8 trillion in defense spending over his Congressional career.
- The man who keeps pushing for a budget that would cut taxes and then asks for $554 billion more in defense spending.
- The man who, along with some 16 other republican hypocrites—see their names below—and yet secretly pursued Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion dollars while hypocritically slamming the law in public.
Hypocrite. Paul Ryan.
And then let’s toss in some Mittsy and his latest flip-flopping hypocritical lie. Romney, possibly still stinging from his loss last November, is unable to come to terms with one of the reasons he didn’t win the white House: his 47% comments.
Here’s his quote:
“There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what… These are people who pay no income tax..."[M]y job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."
He now says what he said was that the "Democrats have 47 percent, we’ve got 45 percent, my job is to get the people in the middle, and I've got to get the people in the middle.'"
Except go back and reread his original verbatim quote and see that his memory isn’t accurate.
Then he says the remark was taken out of context:
“The president said he's writing off 47 percent of Americans and so forth. And that wasn't at all what was intended. That wasn't what was meant by it. That is the way it was perceived.”
Uh huh. Mittsy is clearly flip-flopping. Again.
Like I said at the top: Dodged a bullet.
And now, here are those other GOP hypocriteswho hate Obamacare, and yet are seeking Obamacarefor their constituents:
- Senators Kay Bailey Hutchinson and John Cornyn of Texas.
- Senator Saxby Chambliss of Georgia.
- Senator Thad Cochran of Mississippi.
- Senators Mark Kirk and Rob Portman of Illinois.
- Senator Joe Lieberman of Connecticut.
- RepresentativesMary Bono, Jerry Lewis, and David Valadao Mack of California.
- RepresentativesJohn Barrow and Johnny Isakson of Georgia.
- RepresentativeGregg Harper of Mississippi.
- RepresentativeLee Terry of Nebraska.
- Representative Steve Pearce of New Mexico.
- RepresentativeBob Gibbs of Ohio.
- RepresentativeKirsti Noem of South Dakota.
- RepresentativeMichael McCaul of Texas.

This Is A Republican, Part 2: John Boehner
Posted on 9:00 AM by Unknown
It’s always kind of a stretch to call someone the ‘worst ever’ at any job, because you can always go back in history and find someone even more despicable, but I think it might be safe to say that John Boehner will definitely be on that list of the ‘worst ever’ Speakers of the House—and he might very well take the top spot.
He’s the leader of the Congress, which, as of today, has the lowest approval rating ever; it seems just 6% of the American people think that Boehner and Congress are doing an ‘excellent’ or even a ‘good’ job. Now, not to brag, but I betcha I could take over as Speaker and get that number up, maybe to a seven, or eight, but it’d go up.
And, as in business, when a company does the wrong thing, you blame the boss, and the boss of Congress is Cryin’ John Boehner, who apparently can’t even get his own party to work with him.
Remember when he offered his ‘Plan B’ to avoid that Fiscal Cliff thingy? He had to pull the legislation because House Republicans, his own team, wouldn’t pass it.
He hasn’t passed the Jobs Bill that he’s been talking about for over four years now; I recall him saying jobs was priority one, and yet here we sit, years later, and no jobs bill.
But, he has had time to try and repeal Obamacare thirty-seven times, all of them unsuccessful. No jobs and no success after 37 attempts at repeal.
He also spent the last four years—notably the entire Obama first term—harping about an “immediate debt crisis” only to suddenly admit there really is no such thing. But, hey, he talked about it and talked about it to stir fear in the American people so that he could get Obama out of office and yet he even failed at that.
And what about the Tea Party? Boehner is an ardent supporter of the group, and now they seem hell-bent on tearing the GOP into shreds. He pushed and pushed Tea Party candidates into office—they captured the House in 2012 on the promise of ousting Obama … which we know failed—and now all the Tea Party looks like is a bunch of nuts in a nuthouse.
And Benghazi? Boehner was one of the most vocal GOP Hellhounds in trying to manufacture a conspiracy to take down Obama, or use it to attack Hillary Clinton before she takes the White House in 2016, but all he has proven is that most Americans don’t believe him, and Obama’s approval ratings continue to rise.
And then there’s the Debt Ceiling, and the doubling of the student Loan Interest rates, the GOP threat to raise taxes on the 98% while lowering taxes for the top 2%.
This is what the leader of the GOP in Congress is doing; and even his own party wonders just how bad he is at his job.

This Is A Republican, Part 1: Nikki Haley
Posted on 6:00 AM by Unknown
We’ve all heard about Virginia’s Republican Governor, Bob McDonnell, who is under fire—and rightly so—for receiving cash and gifts from a tobacco executive, right? And we’ve all heard McDonnell apologize for the embarrassment that he and his family brought to the state, right?
Well, he ain’t the only Governor, and Republican, who has allowed wealthy benefactors to lavish him with generous gifts. South Carolina’s own, Transparent Nikki Haley, has, according to her own disclosure forms, accepted tens of thousands of dollars worth of tickets and suites at sporting events over the past two years; and most of those gifts come from people who have business with the state.
Unethical say what?
In Haley’s mandatory 2012 and 2013 Statements of Economic Interests, the governor reported receiving hundreds of gifts, large and small, with the most significant items—from people identified only as “friend/supporter”—being access to their Clemson Football Suites. These little gifts totaled $58,000 over two years.
Now, to be fair, while many states prohibit interested parties from giving gifts to elected officials or cap those gifts at a nominal maximum, South Carolina law does not; still the state does say that no one can “directly or indirectly, give, offer, or promise anything of value to a public official, public member, or public employee” with the intent to influence their official responsibilities.
And yet six of Nikki Haley’s benefactors are members of Clemson’s board of trustees: David Dukes, John “Nicky” McCarter Jr., E. Smyth McKissick III, William Smith Jr., Joseph Swann, and the board’s chairman, former Speaker of the South Carolina House, David Wilkins.
And since Haley took office, and began getting those tickets and suites at Clemson games, the university has benefited greatly. Clemson relies on state funding for about 10% each year, and after several years of declining state revenue, Clemson just received a several-million-dollar increase once Nikki Haley took office.
Uh huh.
And now Clemson is set to receive yet another hefty boost this year. And while the university has not gotten everything it’s wanted from the Haley gubernatorial offices, she has provided Clemson with another key perk: she has repeatedly loaned her state plane to Clemson’s president and its football recruiters and only stopped doing so when state legislators objected.
And howsabout John “Nicky” McCarter Jr., one of Haley’s benefactors? His company, Defender Services, Inc., a Columbia, SC-based staffing company, has received some $300,000 worth of state contracts since The Transparent Nikki Haley took office. And, before that, as a state representative, Haley voted for McCarter’s 2010 reappointment to the Clemson board of trustees.
One hand washes the other, and gives free plane trips and free suites at college football games.
Two of Haley’s other ‘benefactors,’ Dukes and Wilkins, are partners in the Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough lobbying firm. Nelson Mullins, as a treat for supporting Haley, received a$60,000-a-year contract extension with the state last March to provide federal lobbying services for Coastal Carolina University.
Haley’s other gifts included a $1,700 basketball ticket from health care magnate Vivek Garipalli, a $2,500 painting from artist Jeffrey Callaham, and $100 in earrings from a benefactor listed as “unknown.”
Jewelry from ‘unknown.’
The saddest part of the Haley story is that she has made ethical government and reform a major push for her administration while she takes gifts and then magically allows the gift-givers to make money off the state of South Carolina. In fact, Haley has pushed a bill to “determine whether South Carolinians get to know who is paying their legislators, and whether legislators get to continue to police themselves” and in a recent speech uttered these words:
“Never has there been a time where the people of South Carolina wanna see [SIC] ethics reform. Never has there been a time where the people of South Carolina deserve to see ethics reform. Never has there been a time where elected officials are gonna be held accountable and we’re gonna see that happen… We need to show the people of the world that we don’t have issues in South Carolina, that we are not afraid of ethics reform, and that we’re gonna pass a strong ethics reform bill this year.”
Still, there is no evidence that they violated South Carolina’s lax ethics law, it’s hard to believe that the suites did not provide these people with both access to the governor and goodwill from her that the average South Carolinian would not enjoy.
But that’s out Nikki, and that’s your Republican party.

Is Target Still Funding Anti-LGBT Politicians?
Posted on 7:00 AM by Unknown
Is Target at it again? Y’all remember, way back in 2010 when the Target Corporation was forced to apologize after stories surfaced that it had funded campaign ads for anti-LGBT Minnesota gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer? And remember how Target kept saying they are big supporters of the LGBT community while giving big cash to Emmer and his ilk? Well, now it turns out that Target’s apology wasn’t real, and that Target is still giving money to anti-LGBT anti-gay candidates.
In fact, even during the same time period that Target was apologizing, the corporation donated some $31,200 to anti-LGBT candidates in that election cycle, and now we find out that Target is funding, albeit indirectly, the campaign of virulently homophobic Ken Cuccinelli in his bid to become Virginia’s next governor.
And this is how they do it: Target, in the first six months of 2013, contributed $50,000 to the Republican Governors Association, a group which has spent, wait for it because this is an example of the GOP’s new inclusiveness, almost $3 million on Cuccinelli‘s gubernatorial campaign. Now, to be fair, Target also gave $50,000 to the Democratic Governors Association, which is supporting Democratic candidate for governor of Virginia, Terry McAuliffe.
But, how does the LGBT community overlook Target’s money going in Cuccinelli‘s coffers? And should we look the other way? This isn’t about supporting Republicans or Democrats; it’s about giving money without a care as to where it goes, and to whom.
When the shiz hit the Target fan over the Emmer contributions, Target CEO Gregg Steinhafel apologized, then backed off his apology and then apologized again. Then Steinhafel promised to launch “a strategic review and analysis of our decision-making process for financial contributions in the public policy arena” and to start “a dialogue focused on diversity and inclusion in the workplace, including GLBT issues.”
It doesn’t sound like Target is coming through on that promise, but if they wanted to, they could begin donating only to those candidates who are LGBT-friendly, and deny support for those like Cuccinelli. But I hate that Target keeps calling itself a friend to The Gays when they are giving money to people who seem to have one goal, which is to deny us equality.
Of course, in damage control mode, Target spokeswoman Molly Snyder released a statement:
Target’s commitment to the LGBT community is long-standing and unwavering.
We also believe strongly in our civic responsibility to engage in a bipartisan manner at the state and federal level in order to learn about public policy priorities and advocate on issues that affect our business, such as fairness legislation. One of the ways we do this is through membership in both the Democratic and Republican Governors Associations, both of which include several hundred other corporate members. When paying for our memberships, we explicitly require that our dues not be used for any individual electoral campaigns or other electioneering efforts. It would therefore be wrong and inaccurate to associate our membership dues with any particular political candidate or campaign.
This sounds like a heaping pile of ignorance to me. Target is saying that they give money, in the form of membership dues, to both sides, and yet require that their monies not be used “for any individual electoral campaigns”.
That’s kinda hard to do, Target. You can’t hand someone a check for dues to their organization and then ask that the money not be given to certain parts of the group. Target is trying to play the Ignorance Card, but they know, as most folks know, that the GOP is still, by and large, and anti-LGBT political group so when you give them money—even for dues—you are paying for their candidates reelection and for their agenda.
Ignorance is n o excuse.

If You've Ever Gone Down There Ken Cuccinelli Wants To Prosecute You
Posted on 11:00 AM by Unknown
Ken Cuccinelli, the Republican running for Virginia governor, says that in order to protect the children of his state from sexual predators he must make all oral and anal sex—between everyone, even married couples—a felony that carries a sentence of a year in prison.
He announced his plan in his new campaign pledge to reinstate a Crimes Against Nature law, which has already been deemed unconstitutional by federal courts. But this week, Cuccinelli’s campaign launched a website, vachildpredators.com, that presents the law banning sodomy as the only “anti-child-predators law” and says that it “is only applied to sodomy committed against minors, against non-consenting adults, or in public.”
Both those statements are lies.
Cuccinelli’s ‘law’ would criminalize the sexual behavior of consenting adults—all consenting adults—as well as those of sexual predators. He is basically saying that if you, ahem, go down on your sexual partner, no matter the gender of either participant, you are a sexual predator.
Cuccinelli, who is the reason the provision including consensual oral and anal sex between grown people wasn’t removed to make the law constitutional in the first place, says, of The Gays: “My view is that homosexual acts, not homosexuality, but homosexual acts are wrong. They’re intrinsically wrong. And I think in a natural-law-based country, it’s appropriate to have policies that reflect that … They don’t comport with natural law.”
Gays are good, says Ken; gays having sex are bad.
I think Cuccinelli is a little too obsessed with what The Gays do sexually; and he’s a little too obsessed with what anyone does sexually. I think someone should ask Cuccinelli, in all serious, and in all efforts to be completely transparent as a candidate, if he has ever gone down there and if any one, male or female, to be fair, has ever gone down on him.
Explain please Ken. I mean, if you’re so keen on knowing what I do in my bedroom, then I ask to know what goes on in yours.
The GOP. They have stuck their heads into women’s vaginas and now they’re Peeping Toms into the bedrooms of all Virginians. I mean, if Ken Cuccinelli, the Anti-Cunnilingus, Anti-Fellatio candidate, wins the office of governor.
Sidenote: Does anyone else think Kenny looks a little Light in the loafers? Anyone else think he's a Friend of Dorothy's? Anyone else wonder if he could Have his own show on Bravo? Anyone think he's queer?

That's Our Nikki: Haley Named To Worst Governor's List
Posted on 7:00 AM by Unknown
We sure know how to pick ‘em down here in South Carolina.
Our very own governor, Nikki Haley, was just named by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington [CREW] as one of the worst governors in America. Yippee for us!
CREW says Haley has undermined transparency in state government by withholding details about her outside employment while she served in the state legislature and shielding her communication with her staff.
For much of her term, Haley has faced an ethics investigation and a lawsuit related to her employment while serving as a state representative.
An ethics complaint filed in 2012 alleged that Haley illegally lobbied on behalf of Lexington Medical Center, where she worked for nearly two years, and solicited donations to the hospital’s foundation from lobbyists and companies with business before the state, including payday lenders to whom Haley, as governor, has maintained strong political ties.
Haley also earned more than $40,000 in consulting fees from an engineering firm and then participated in a vote related to the company; she disclosed those earnings only when she was forced to because she was running for governor. But, after initially finding probable cause that a violation occurred, the House Ethics Committee cleared Haley of all charges in June 2012.
Additionally, Nikki Haley has continued her predecessor, Mark Sanford’s, legally dubious practice of only archiving emails between herself and the public; her internal staff emails have all been deleted, which some attorneys have said destroys essential public records. In an effort to explain all the deleted emails, Nikki has made the implausible claim about her contact with her staff; for example, she wants us to believe that she and her chief of staff did not communicate via email for an entire monthin 2011.
She has also faced accusations of avoiding use of her state-issued cellphone and only conducting state business on a personal cellphone.
Totally transparent.
In March 2011 report in The State found that 26 of the 59 people that Governor Haley appointed to state boards and commissions were donors to her campaign, and had contributing at least $74,000 in total.
Between November 2010 and October 2011, Haley took at least 17 flights on the private planes owned by people with potential business before the state, including the chief executive officer of a pharmaceutical company that received $4.5 million in state funds.
CREW Executive Director Melanie Sloan:
“Given the array of ethics investigations into Governor Haley’s conduct, her efforts to conceal records from the public suggest there may be further misdeeds. The failure of investigators to identify wrongdoing by Gov. Haley speaks more to South Carolina’s weak ethics laws than to Gov. Haley’s probity.”
That’s our Nikki. Governor; for now.

What if Obama’s First Term Was Just Like Bush’s?
Posted on 10:30 AM by Unknown
The Republicans make me giggle; all that shock and awe that Barack Obama was elected president, not once, but twice. And their continued need to vote to repeal and repeal and repeal and repeal Obamacare. Toss in a little made up Benghazi scandal and some IRS nonsense and well, it’s just wack-a-doodie GOP these days.
But, as I found while glancing through Forward Progressives, What if Obama’s first 4 years were almost identical to George W. Bush’s first 4years?
Imagine if you will ….
- His very first election, he’s “elected” President when the United States Supreme Court overrules Florida’s Supreme Court call for a statewide recount, thus becoming President of the United States—even though he lost the popular vote.
- 8 months after he took office we experienced the worst terrorist attack in United States history, and there was solid evidence presented that he had intelligence saying that a terrorist group was planning on attack on United States soil—but did nothing.
- Video was shown of his reaction to being told that the United States was under attack, and he sat there for a few minutes with a blank look on his face—doing nothing.
- Our economy went from a balanced budget, and a budget surplus, back to deficits—every year he had been President.
- The longest period of economic growth in American history—came to an end.
- We started a war with Iraq. About 2 months after the start of the war he then decided to land on an aircraft carrier (in a flight suit) to declare “Mission Accomplished.” Yet 2 years later, over 2,000 American soldiers had died and not a single weapon of mass destruction had been found.
- 4 years after the 9/11 attack, Osama bin Laden had still not been captured.
- Reports, and photos, of abuse by the U.S. Army against Iraqi prisoners surfaces at the Abu Ghraib prison.
- We saw 5 different attacks on American embassies.
- Attorney General John Ashcroft appears before the Senate Judiciary Committee to discuss the first leaked pieces coming to light of communication within the intelligence community about the authorization of torture on prisoners of war to extract information (Bush later admitted he authorized torture and would do it again).
- Told Iraqi insurgents to “Bring it on.”
And even with all that to ponder, that’s not all about W; those are just, well, since the GOP is so gun happy, and so in the pocket of the NRA, those are the main “bullet” points.
If the GOP is “shocked” by some of the events that have occurred during Obama’s first 4 years—most of which had nothing to do with President Obama and were completely right-wing fabricated controversies—just imagine what they would be like if Obama pulled the same kind of crap Bush did in his first 4 years.
They’d have worked to re-elect him.
